Yes that is right ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is intentionally included in the title. I am going to make a short comparison between PHP and ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, believe it or not here it comes!
PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML.

When college senior Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) steps in for her sick roommate to interview prominent businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) for their campus paper, little does she realize the path her life will take. Christian, as enigmatic as he is rich and powerful, finds himself strangely drawn to Ana, and she to him. Though sexually inexperienced, Ana plunges headlong into an affair — and learns that Christian’s true sexual proclivities push the boundaries of pain and pleasure.

Well PHP is a Server-Side language used widely nowadays. It is open source and as such free to use by anyone. Learning PHP is the same as when Ana tries to figure out and learn more about Christian. Being that PHP is widely adopted there are many scripts and ready to use source codes that fit most scenarios and this is the same as the public image of Christian.
They are not many people who know what PHP can do and what it can be the same way as many people do not understand who Christian is and what he can be. PHP is really endless and covers all your fantasies about server-side projects. Really people mostly scratch only the surface of PHP since it’s actually that famous. Almost all the times people just scratch the surface of PHP and do not want to actually go further because well they do not have to. The same way as with the people on Christian’s life. But they are those few PHP evangelists that are really fond of PHP and try their hardest to show the world what PHP can do and what it has the power to do. They are the only ones that fully get to know PHP and get the benefits from it, the same way as Ana with Christian.
Although PHP is open source it is really a language that can be used for enterprises without any worries it is really secure and has a great performance, the same way that Christian is successful.
Although there could really be no similarities between a film and a programming language. I found the need to get an intriguing way to promote PHP and make the world understand that they do not have to fear open source but should actually embrace it.
Here is also a mindless copy paste from udemy that shows you why PHP over .NET:
Unless you are already familiar with the .NET framework or want to stick to Microsoft technologies, there is no discernible need to use ASP.NET over PHP. PHP can do everything that ASP.NET can, and it can do it for free. (I do not actually like .NET as it seems)
Now that you have a better understanding of PHP, it is about time you start believing in it and its capacities. It can really fulfill your darkest dreams, about server-side projects at least :).
